Save up to 55% in costs over the P50 fire extinguisher’s replacement cycle.

Our P50 extinguishers require no servicing by an engineer, just a simple annual check that can be carried out by a member of your own team once competence training has been received by Eastern Extinguishers. This means that no service contract is necessary, saving you an average of 55% in costs over the replacement cycle.

Eastern Extinguishers provide four types of P50 extinguishers: ECO Foam, Wet Chemical (F-Class), Powder and Water Mist.

P50 Extinguishers vs Traditional Extinguishers.

P50 Fire Extinguishers

  • The composite construction of our P50 extinguishers includes an internal 3-layered cylinder which does not corrode or interact with the chemicals inside.

  • P50 extinguishers are also tightly wrapped in a Kevlar Aramid material – a fibre stronger than steel and often used in bullet proof vests, to reinforce strength.

  • The multi-risk ECO Foam P50 fire extinguisher is our Quad Class extinguisher covering Class A (flammable solids), Class B (flammable liquids), Class F (cooking oils/fats) and live electrical fires (up to 1000 volts). Meaning that you will need just one P50 fire extinguisher compared to the traditional pairing of two (CO2 and foam) fire extinguishers.

  • The powder P50 extinguishers are also multi-risk, covering Class A, B and C (flammable gases) fires, as well as live electrical fires.

  • Our wet chemical P50 fire extinguishers are rated to cover Class F (cooking oils/fats) and live electrical fires.

  • The P50 eco foam, wet chemical and powder fire extinguishers have passed all legal and safety standards for use on electrical fires, with a dielectric rating of 1,000v.

  • P50 fire extinguishers come with a 10-year warranty and have a 20-year life cycle.

  • No service contract is necessary as they can be serviced by clients themselves once training has been provided by us.

Traditional Fire Extinguishers

  • Traditional stored pressure fire extinguishers are made from painted steel and the inner lining is at risk from corrosion after prolonged contact with the contents.

  • Traditional fire extinguishers often get dented; can burst if the contents freeze and the inner protective lining can detach.

  • There are several types of traditional fire extinguishers, each with their own limitations on what fires they can be safely used on. This means that you will usually need more than one type of extinguisher to cover all fire hazards.

    • Water fire extinguishers will cover class A (flammable solids) fires only.

    • Traditional foam fire extinguishers can tackle A (flammable solids) and B (flammable liquids) class fires.

    • Powder fire extinguishers can tackle A, B, C (flammable gases) and electrical fires.

    • CO2 fire extinguishers cover B, C and electrical fires.

    • Wet chemical extinguishers cover F (cooking oil & fats) class fires.

  • Traditional steel extinguishers need replacing or refilling every 5 years. Except for CO2 extinguishers, which will need replacing every 10 years.

  • Traditional steel extinguishers require a costly annual maintenance check by a trained professional.

P50 Fire Extinguisher Review

“I am very pleased with the way we have been able to work with Eastern Extinguishers to replace more than 800 extinguishers with just over 500 new multi-risk units across our hospitals.

I have also been very impressed with the product and the way their team worked with us to install the new extinguishers without interruption to the day to day running of the hospital.

Furthermore, our staff have been impressed with how light the products are to use and how the multi-risk nature of them means they don’t have to worry about selecting the right unit.”

Philp Burridge, Fire Safety Officer - University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.
